Renowned for its beautiful landscape and spectacular architecture, the Summer Palace has been listed in the World Heritage Sites and considered as one of the most classical gardens of the world. The Summer Palace, originally named Qingyi Yuan or the Garden of Clear Ripples, was first constructed in 1750. It was razed to the ground by the Anglo-French Allied Forces in 1860. The Government of the Qing Dynasty started to rebuild it in 1886 with funds that it had misappropriated from the Imperial Navy and other sources. Renamed two years later as Yihe Yuan or the Garden of Health and Harmony, it was supposed to serve as a summer resort for the Empress Dowager Cixi. Known also as the Summer Palace, it was ravaged by the Allied Forces of the Eight Powers that invaded China in 1900. The damage was repaired in 1902.

Mr. said:
We are arriving in Beijing from Tokyo on Friday July 5th at 18:10 (6:10PM) and leaving to Sydney the next day at 16:50 (4:50PM). We would like to see the major sites in Beijing and found your 1 day tour (BJ-05) very interesting. There are two of us on this trip and I would like to know if there is a way to start and end a tour a few hours earlier than scheduled. I notice that the sunrise for Beijing on July 5th is near 5AM so if we can start first thing in the morning would be great. Please let me know if this is possible. Thank you.
Administrator replaied:
Hello Mr.Timothy Morrison The problem is the sites all open between 8:30 to 5pm,so even start at sunrise doesn't help But have a look at this plan,BJ-05 works.we can meet at 7:30,then visit Tian'anmen square first, then 8:30 once Forbidden City open we be the first tourists, then 10:30am heading to the summer palace,11:30-1:00 Summer palace,Fast lunch then 1:50 heading to the airport,on the way passby the olympic site .2:50pm arrive the airport
